CHRocodile MPS Family – Multipoint measurement for precise analysis of wall thickness and glass distribution
Optimal In-Line Inspection of Multiple Defects
Simultaneous multipoint mapping for inline glass inspection is an automated, non-contact measuring principle for capturing the topography and wall thickness of glass during the manufacturing process. Systems such as the Precitec CHRocodile Multi-Point Sensor (MPS) series provide real-time process data and enable the early detection and prevention of defects, even at high production speeds.
Precitec’s multipoint measurement captures multiple positions simultaneously and provides a comprehensive real-time view of the glass distribution profile. This results in improved defect detection, greater process stability, and optimized quality control for demanding inline glass inspection applications.
Multipoint Measurement: The Benefits of the CHRocodile MPS Family

Scalable Multipoint Architecture
Replace up to 12 single-point sensors with a compact system—expandable to up to 24 measuring channels. Benefit from reduced integration effort and lower costs per measuring channel.
Simultaneous Execution of Multiple Measurement Tasks
Combine optical probes with different measuring ranges and resolutions to measure various parameters simultaneously within a single system.
Flexible positioning of the optical probes
Position multiple optical probes freely along the sample to fully capture glass distribution profiles and reliably detect critical thin spots in real time.
Cost-effective multichannel measurement in the smallest of spaces

By replacing several single-point sensors, the CHRocodile MPS significantly reduces the cost per measuring channel. With a diameter of just 8 mm, a measuring range of 10 mm, and a working distance of 20 mm, the optical probe can be integrated even into space-constrained machine designs.
